I would start with the Summon Power Search (search box at library.cornerstone.edu) and try some of the following searches:

  • child abuse effects
  • effects of child abuse in adulthood
  • short term effects of child abuse
  • long term effects of child abuse

I would also limit search results to 2000 to present, which you can do on the lower left hand column.

Here are a few direct links to helpful encyclopedia articles:

Article “Child Abuse” in International Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family

Article “Child Abuse/Treatment” in International Encyclopedia of Public Health

Article “Child Abuse And Neglect” in Encyclopedia of psychology

Also, if you cannot find enough through the Summon Power Search, try the database “PsycArticles” (library.cornerstone.edu > Databases > PsycArticles).  I would work with the same searches recommended above.
